Character Description
Picture (optional):
Appearance: In his base form, James has brown hair styled in casual disarray, and it hangs down to just above his ears. His eyes are a bright green, and show clear signs of intelligence, never failing to take note of the smallest detail. He stands at six feet even, his skin holding a light tan, with small scars scattered across his form. His build is of medium, equally suited for speed and strength, but again, these all are subject to change. He weighs about 175lbs, none of it fat, just lean muscle. He wears a simple pair of dark jeans, hiding the tops of black combat boots. On his upper body, he wears a grey button up shirt, over which a jacket rests, black with red designs on the back. The designs are two red feathered wings spreading out to the side, with a crimson blade descending down the center.
Personality: Cold, distant, remote. The most common description given to him. He cares most for his own well being above those of others, but is not above helping them, if he thinks it important or beneficial to him. Alone, he is thoughtful, reflective, and quite rational. He spends alot of time in thought, or reading to pass his time. In the company of others, he is often quite, preffering to observe and calculate. If he feels interested enough, or has a question directed at him, he will speak. More often than not, he is blunt, not bothering to cover his words or feelings. If he doesn't like you, you'll be the first to know. In combat, he can be rash, impulsive and a little uncreative, but highly effective. He has had no formal training in combat, so has no set style or form. His attacks can vary, and often do, shifting from one weapon to another, with each having their own set of special attacks. When one truly gets to know him however, he can be a nice and caring person, putting their well being over his own. He never fears for his own life, for as far as he knows, he's unkillable. A major trait to him, is vengeance. If someone has wronged him, even the gods themselves, he will stop at nothing to see them destroyed.
Character History
Home World: Earth, New York City.
Current World: Travelling
Key Family Members: None
Personal History:
Born twenty years ago on planet Earth, James was a model student. He went through life as a good person should, he excelled in school, both physically and mentally, and never got into trouble, not for lack of trying on any part! He was very eloquent, and could always talk his way out of a situation. When he was eighteen, he left highschool, and hadn't yet decided on a college, when he was selected for a military research program, being conducted by GenTek. He was told that he was selected for ihs exceptional abilities in the classroom, and he was offered a fair amount of money, and a long term job with the company that could be continued if they found his service satisfactory.
Needless to say, he readily agreed to take part in the study, to his great misfortune. He was exposed to the Blacklight virus, to test the affects of the virus, to see if it could be used reliably. Originally, the virus's predecessor was released in Hope, Idaho as a weapon that could target specific races, that mutated into a far more deadly virus. After that incident, Hope was cleansed with a nuclear blast, and the cover up was a melt-down at a nuclear plant. After that, research was transferred to the GenTek headquarters in NYC, with the new variant DX-1118. Researched by a team of doctors, James was only one of ten infected, but the project was shutdown. A sample of the virus was stolen as BlackOps military unit Blackwatch ordered the deaths of all GenTek employees, and reasercher Alex Mercer fled.
Alex was cornered in Penn Station, where he released the virus, determined to take down as many of Blackwatch's soldiers with him as he could. The virus entered his corpse as he was killed, and became him, much like with the original test subjects. To an extent however, he was marginally more successful. The virus became him readily, the others weren't so lucky. They were still living when the virus infected them, and only five of ten made it out alive, two of which remained sane. James was one, he never knew the name of the second. James was ordered to be executed as well, and they tried, but the virus regenerated his body, feeding off the biomass of other corpses around where he was dumped. He was truly one with the virus now, and had complete control over it. He was infected on a massive level, given him poweful abilities and ehnacements.
After escaping the NYC quarantine zone, he fled across the country, never stopping for fear of pursuit, before finding himself one day in a realm of seven monitors, and a man named Jason. He remains unsure of how he arrived, but he vaguely recalls the darkness around him as he fled, and time seeing to change around him, the sight of worlds destroyed, black and silver invaders. When he emerged, he was told to select a god, and so was educated in the seven. He felt no sway towards good or evil, but had powers blessed with darkness, but a heart tempered by wanting to help others. He knew not which to choose, and so settled on Sophron, for the balance the god reflected seemed echoed to the balance within him. When this was finished, he was sent to a town, Radiant Garden, sent there to live and go about a normal life. However, this was not possible for him as his new powers of darkness began to manifest themselves, and soon enough, he found himself travelling the worlds, learning more than he had in his life.

Powers/Weapons
Magic: None
Abilities:
Darkness Control:
After his unusual arrival to these realms, he found himself infused with the darkness that had brought him, attracted to his virus and cellular make up. With it, he can create darkness portals to travel between the worlds, and though he doesn't know it yet, can exert control over the heartless to a certain extent. With training, he can command vast amounts, but at this time, no more than twenty without great difficulty and fully occupying his attention.
Cellular Recreation:
As a living virus, his body can recreate itself on a cellular level, allowing him to change his form. When he consumes a target, he takes on the memories, appearance, and uses the biomass to restore his own strength. He can only consume weakened opponents however, no matter how sudden his attack. He also has the ability to transform his body into weapons and armour. He can transform his right arm into a large and powerful blade, both arms into claws, massive fists, an extendable whip-arm, or increase the muscle-mass of his body to make him stronger. He can also create a black shield to defend himself which shatters and must regenerate after too much damage, or cover himself in thick black armour, trading agility for endurance.
Thermal Vision:
He can see in infrared, duh!
Regeneration:
To a small extent, his body can repair itself when he's securely hidden away, preventing him from dieing from his wounds. For a complete healing, he has to consume biomass.
Critical Mass:
Either when his life is about to end, or he has excess biomass stored up, he enters his critical mass state. His already enhanced abilities grow even more powerful, and he has access to his devestator attacks, as listed below. However, he has only two devastator uses when in an excess CM, and one while in near death CM.
1. Tendril Barrage-Powerful tendrils rocket forth from his body, slaying everything within a fifty foot radius, useful for fast moving and agile targets.
2. Groundspike Graveyard- Spikes erupt from the ground, impaling everything in fifty feet on the ground, useful for medium enemies that are not as agile.
3. Critical Pain- Fires a beam of hardened biomass from his hands, with a range of thirty feet, it does massive damage to a single target, useful for powerful and slow moving opponents.
Weapons: (Weapons listed followed by techniques used with them.)
Blade Arm- His most physically powerful weapon, his right arm transforms into a blade that can shear through most any substance. As a literal extension of his own arm, he is quite proficient with it.
1. Blade Frenzy-A furious assault of slashes, each one faster than the last, a total of six strikes. Useful against faster opponents.
2. Ryutsuisen(Named after the Kenshin move cause I don't know what else to call it.)- Leaping high into the air, James can come down with a powerful downward stroke that can cleave through tanks like butter. Useful against the slow moving enemies.
Claws- His arms transform into long and sharp claws, his more agile weapon. With them, he can pierce most substances, and tear things to shreds, putting Wolverine to shame!
1. Disembowlment- He drives both of his claws deep into his opponents body, before ripping them out in opposite directions.
Useful against the faster and more agile opponents.
2. Groundspike- Driving his claws into the ground, the virus extends them, and they erupt from beneath his opponents feet, impaling them. Not as powerful as the devestator version, but still quite painful. Useful for slower moving targets.
And I don't bother with the others, so I shall not list their abilities, but the weapons themselves.
Hammerfists-His fists harden, becoming like clubs with which to batter his target. Powerful but slow.
Whipfist-His right arm transforms into an extendable dagger that he can whip out. Agile and meant for long range attacks.
Musclemass-Ups the musclemass in his body, making him more powerful and agile. An increase to his base form, equally suited for power and speed.
Other Information
RP Sample:
James had been fleeing the Blackwatch military group, before he found himself hurtling head long down a black corridor. Darkness raged around him, and he could see flashes of the death of worlds, of silver and black creatures all around him, overruning the worlds before they died. He was unaware of how long he travelled, it could have been seconds, or it could have been an eternity. He was suddenly thrust forward, emerging into a large domed room, and his body swirled with darkness, his arms shifting into claws, ready for battle. What emerged before him wasn't the Blackwatch soldiers he thought, but a man who announced himself as Jason. Warily, his arms return to their natural form, and listening to Jason, he agreed to do as requested.
He sat through the seven choices, but was unable to determine which to choose. His mind, drawn by the power and similarity, demanded the he choose Xerxes, that he might grow even more powerful, and reign supreme over those that thought to challenge him. His heart, tempered by his good nature and desire to help people, demanded that he follow Alyx, in order to achieve this end. Unable to decide, torn between two extremes, he settled for Sophron, deeming a balance neccessary in order to survive. He made his choice, and recieved the mark of his god, though it irked him. The virus in his body tried to eliminate the mark, and return itself to normal, but remained unsuccesful. After the ceremony, he was sent to the town of Radiant Garden, to try and live in peace. Failing this, his body began to manifest it's powers once more, sporadic bursts of darkness and the virus making his form seem to tremble. Instinctively, he knew what to do, and forced open a portal, through which he stepped. To this day, he hasn't looked back.
Other:
Nothing comes to mind at this moment, so I shall leave it be. It may be adjusted as time goes on, though unlikely.
